Synchronous Belts

Synchronous, or positive drive belts are the latest concept in power transmission belting evolution. These belts combine the advantages of chain and gear with the advantages of V-belts, but without the limitations, usually associated with these conventional types of drives.

Synchronous Belts are very versatile with possible applications on drives up to 450kw and from speeds under 0.5m/s to over 30m/s.

Engineered and manufactured with extreme care with pitch, tooth depth, width and other measurements accurate to a precise degree.

Synchronous belts offer an efficiency of about 98% and maintain that efficiency over a wide load range. In contrast, V-belts have a sharp reduction in efficiency at high torque due to increasing slippage. Synchronous belts require less maintenance and retensioning, operate in wet and oily environments, and run slip-free. But, synchronous belts are noisy, unsuitable for shock loads, and transfer vibrations.
